How it started

Robert Gaunt

I’ve been a full time IT Project Manager for many years so I’ve had the opportunity to create numerous websites, large and small, Internet and Intranet, for my employers and their clients.

I enjoyed creating websites so much, that in late 2007 I decided to dedicate some time outside of my “day job”,  to work as a Freelance Web Designer. So, I started Mojofactory.

Why choose me?

  1. I guarantee my work – If for any reason you are unhappy with the quality of my work, I will refund your money.
  2. Communication – Great communication is a big part in ensuring your project runs smoothly. I provide all my clients with a detailed plan of what I will be doing on your project. As the project is executed, you will be kept up to date on my progress against that plan (online, via email and sms messages). In addition, I am available by phone and email at any time.
  3. Clean Websites – I don’t make flashy websites that leave visitors feeling frustrated and unable to find the information they want. I create websites that are attractive, clean and usable, helping visitors find what they are looking for. I always pay special attention to accessibility guidelines and ease of navigation.
  4. I am a one-stop-shop – I can handle all areas of your website, from creation to deployment. Right from the very first meeting, all the way to domain registration, hosting and maintenance of your new website (if you so choose).
  5. Cutting Edge – I’m always refreshing my skills and knowledge. I follow the latest best practices and use current technologies.
  6. Something for all budgets - I prefer to create custom designs for my clients to ensure that they get exactly what is necessary for their business. However, if my client  needs something on a tight budget, I can also offer “off-the-shelf” template packages.
  7. Training - Once your site is ready, I provide a walkthrough of your website and reference videos on how to complete maintenance tasks so that you don’t forget.
  8. Search Engine Submission - Once your site is ready I submit it to the major search engines free of charge.
  9. FREE 24×7 Monitoring – Once your site is live, I monitor it 24×7 to ensure that it remains online. If there is a problem with your web host, I will notify you immediately and help resolve the issue.

Engagement Process

Many of my clients explain that when they have worked with “Other” web designers, they felt that they never really knew what was going on or when the project would finish. To ensure that does not happen with me, I have developed a clear 3-step process that will keep you in the loop.

Step 1: Initiation

  • We’ll discuss project requirements, time frame, budget, and other pertinent details. This discussion will take place in person, by telephone, video call or via e-mail
  • I’ll develop a customized proposal for you. In this proposal will be a Statement of Work, a quote, a project schedule, and a contract
  • You will be given time to review and decide whether to start the project

Step 2 – Execution

  • If you accept the proposal and return the contract with an initial retainer fee, we’ll begin work
  • At this time, I’ll need the content (text, graphics, photos, etc.) that you’d like to use on your website (if necessary I can source imagery, and sub contract a copy writer)
  • I’ll create the design concepts for your site. They will be posted online (as .jpg image files) so that you can review them
  • When you are happy with the design, I’ll build your site
  • Once the site is ready it will be setup on your website address
  • Your site will be submitted to the top 5 search engines (Free)
  • Your site will be setup with Google Analytics (Free)
  • Your site will be setup on my 24×7 Monitor tools (Free)
  • If you have chosen to use a content management system, you will be given a training session on how to maintain the site (unless you want me to do that for you).

Step 3 – Closure

  • After the site has been tested and approved by you, the balance of your fee must be paid and then the copyrights and administrative details will be transferred to you.
